1. TWR Bonaire Station Technical Director
Region:Latin America & the Caribbean
Reports to: International VP, Latin America & the Caribbean
Location: Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands
Job Purpose Summary: The Station Technical director is part of a 3-person management team that oversees the Bonaire facility and broadcast operations.  In addition, the technical director oversees and directs all technical matters to guarantee proper operation and maintenance of all broadcast and auxiliary systems in support of TWR-Bonaire ministry objectives.

Key Result Areas:

  • Supervises, Oversees, and coordinates staff and operations related to the following:
    • Technical
      • RF Transmission systems, 450kW MW, LPFM, VSAT, STL, etc.
      • Electrical, Security, Studios
    • Physical Plant
      • Antennae, Grounds, Vehicles, Buildings and related systems, A/C etc.
    • IT Supervision
      • Works with the IT Manager to ensure all devices connected to the LAN and WLAN in cooperation with Corporate IT
  • Organize and participate in the 24hr/7day on-call monitoring of the transmitter broadcasts and system troubleshooting
  • Ensure the correct function and maintenance of all audio systems, e.g. studios and automation
  • Plan, manage, budget and account for costs related to all technical aspects of the Bonaire station and participate in overall station budget planning.
  • Ascertain maintenance needs of building and grounds and organize repairs with the maintenance team
  • Oversee and Coordinate purchasing of parts related to technical operations, maintenance and repairs of broadcast equipment.
  • Assist in executing repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Maintain familiarity and ensure compliance with regulations pertaining to broadcasting, operations, and workplace safety
  • Lead a work culture of servant leadership and teamwork in which each individual is valued

 Core Competencies:

  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and lead teams to ensure highest levels of operational uptime and safety procedures in a high RF environment
  • Strong technical sense and management skills with attention to detail; balancing engineering and maintenance needs with budgetary constraints
  • Computer skills related to MS office and computer-based automation (transmitter control and playout) systems
  • Proven abilities and training in project management, a plus
  • Respected by peers as one having a close walk with God.
  • A servant’s heart, with a solid commitment to TWR’s mission statement and a heart for the lost

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with some training in Electrical Engineering or RF systems desired
  • Four years or more of management; general maintenance and radio frequency troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Experience and familiarity with best practices in construction, physical plant maintenance, fleet vehicle maintenance, and asset management
  • Familiarity with IT systems from a supervisory perspective
2. Business Administration Coordinator

Region: Americas
Reports to: International VP Latin America & the Caribbean
Location: Bonaire, Netherlands Caribbean
Job Purpose Summary: Works as a member of the Bonaire Leadership team to ensure smooth business process and compliance with all government requirements.

Key Result Areas:

  • Interact with government and business offices as necessary in regard to matters such as immigration, licensing, statistics, labor, taxes, registrations, etc.
  • Investigate tax obligations and ensure accurate reporting, filing, and tax payments.
  • Coordinate the translation of government correspondence from Dutch into English and ensure thatcorrectaction is taken.
  • Prepare and submit reports in Dutch or English as required by local and national laws.
  • File, retain, and retrieve business information as required.
  • Understand station finance processes.
  • Visit local government offices and businesses as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks within the office of Trans World Radio.

Core Competencies:

  • Balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable when circumstances and requirements change rapidly.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Candidate Specifications:

  • Microsoft Office literate.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn processes and procedures.

3.  Tool and Equipment Supervisor

Region: Americas               
Reports to:
Maintenance Manager, TWR-Bonaire
Location: Bonaire, Netherlands Caribbean
Job Purpose Summary: Works with the Maintenance Manager and Rigger Supervisor, properly maintaining all the tools and equipment. Assists in maintenance of antenna systems and other equipment needed to operate a 500 kW Medium Wave (AM) radio station.

Key Result Areas:

  • Monitor and oversee condition of all tools and equipment related to daily operations in the Maintenance department.
  • Coordinate handling of tools and equipment; keep all tools maintained and organized.
  • Assure proper organization of stockroom and spare parts are on hand as needed; report needed purchases to Maintenance Manager.
  • Instruct workers in use of tools and equipment with care and safety.
  • Inspect all safety equipment and supplies/tools for each tower job and coordinate advance purchases with Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist work teams to ensure application of TWR’s servant leadership principles while maintaining the highest level of productivity, effectiveness and safety.
  • Assist in repair and regular maintenance on four 479’ towers.
  • Adherence with safe and effective operational and maintenance procedures, contributing to workplace safety.
  • Assist work crews in all antenna maintenance.
  • Inspire a vision of service to the Kingdom, with safety, and excellence in all work executed.

Expected Core Competencies:

  • Mechanical and electrical background
  • Experience in metal structure maintenance and welding
  • Organizational capabilities
  • Enjoys physically demanding hands-on work, be in good health, and have experience in safely lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Work effectively on own initiative and with other team members.
  • Ability to research, design, explain, coordinate, and follow a planned course of action on projects. 
  • Strong respect for safety procedures in a high-power RF environment and working at heights.
  • Desired; practical experience or knowledge in several of these areas: Air Conditioning, Mechanical, Auto/Diesel, Electrical, Painting, Roofing, and related areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in engineering.  Associate’s accepted, Bachelor’s preferred. Or certification in tower erection and maintenance from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of tower structures, support systems, standard rigging practices and metal structure maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work together with a team.
  • English proficiency with a willingness to learn other languages.
